CHEYENNE – On Monday, June 8, the adjutant general of Wyoming, Maj. Gen. Greg Porter and Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon had the great honor of meeting World War II veteran Sidney Walton, 101. Sidney joined the Army in 1941 and served in the 34th Infantry, 8th Division.

Sidney stopped in Cheyenne as a part of his NO REGRETS TOUR as he drives across the country to build awareness of the dwindling number of WWII veterans and the sacrifices they made to our great country. Sidney began this campaign in response to his own regret of missing out on the chance to meet some of the last Civil War veterans. Sidney and his son Paul set out on the cross country journey to meet with the governor in all 50 states and the mayor of D.C. along with thousands of people.

Thank you for your service Sidney and for bring awareness to the ever decreasing number of WWII veterans in our country and across the world. Be sure to follow his progress across America on his website: gosidneygo.com
