CHEYENNE – Tim Sheppard has been named the director of the Wyoming Veterans Commission. He begins his duties Sept. 16.
Sheppard comes to the position after serving 40 years in the Army and Army National Guard. He served in a wide variety of command and staff positions to include Wyoming Army National Guard Chief of Staff and the United States Property and Fiscal Officer.
“It’s important to me to take care of the men and women who took care of our state and nation,” Sheppard said. “I look forward to ensuring Wyoming veterans continue to receive necessary information and benefits services from the commission.”
As director, he will oversee daily operations for the 12-member governor-appointed commission, the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum and the Wyoming National Guard Museum.
Sheppard takes over for Steve Kravitsky who served as the commission’s director for 2 years.
