Camp Guernsey is conducting an active shooter training event on Sept. 27 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The public should expect to hear simulated gunfire and sirens and see increased security measures around the military training facility.

Four people from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center tasked with acquiring the sensitive software used to plan and execute nuclear deterrence operations created a way to test new software using real-world, classified data, saving the government millions since 2014.
Operation Homefront, the national nonprofit that builds strong, stable, and secure military families, is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Military Child of the Year® Awards, as well as applications for the 2019 Military Child of the Year® Award for Innovation. Military Child of the Year® is the nation’s premier celebration of the achievements of military children. Nominations are open through December 5, and all awards will be presented at a recognition gala April 18, 2019 in the nation’s capital.

North Dakota’s Alpha team topped the standings in the overall team events at the National Guard’s Marksmanship Advisory Council (MAC) Region VI Combat Marksmanship Training Sustainment Exercise, hosted by the Wyoming National Guard at Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center Aug. 17-19.
