Laramie County Library to Host Voter Registration and Presentation with County Clerk Debra Lee

CHEYENNE – On Thursday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Cottonwood Room, Laramie County Library will host Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee as she presents “How We Vote in America and Around the World,” a detailed account of her work implementing free and fair elections with the United Nations in places such as Afghanistan, Bosnia, and East Timor. The presentation will also discuss voting rights in America and include photos, ballots, campaign memorabilia, and other items from her time working abroad.

During the presentation, community members will have the opportunity to register to vote in the Willow Room. Voter registration will be open from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and will be run by the County Clerk’s office. The event is presented as part of Laramie County Library System, League of Women Voters, Wyoming Tribune Eagle, and Laramie County Community College’s celebration of Women’s Suffrage and is one of several community events celebrating Wyoming’s role in granting women the right to vote.

This event is free and open to the public. A limited supply of light refreshments will be available for attendees. Join Laramie County Library in celebrating suffrage in Wyoming and around the world by listening to Debra Lee’s account of her amazing work, and exercise your own right to vote by ensuring you are registered for the next election.
