The Boeing Company visits Cheyenne

CHEYENNE –  One year ago The Boeing Company first came to the greater Cheyenne area to visit with local leaders. Today Thursday, April 11th, Boeing will be returning to the community to visit specifically with area businesses. All businesses interested in becoming a Boeing Supplier is encouraged to attend to learn how. Advance registration is required. There is no admission expense. Event is kindly being provided by The Boeing Company and Blue Federal Credit Union.

Boeing is one of two companies competing for the contract with the United State Air Force for the modernization of three missile bases. To ensure a strong future for generations to come, Congress had appropriated $90 billion toward the project. The overhaul will place a new weapon system online called Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (G.B.S.D.). In preparation the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce has been equipping businesses and community members with the knowledge of how they can take advantage of this extensive opportunity through their GBSD Bound Initiative. If businesses are unable to attend, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce can provide access to other resources; free consultations and Webinars.

“Boeing has provided the reliable Minuteman ICBM to the U.S. Air Force for the deterrence mission since 1958. In August 2017, the Air Force awarded Boeing $349 million for the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction work on the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent, which will replace the Minuteman III. We are focused on completing all TMRR milestones and preparing a GBSD solution that is capable, flexible and affordable.” – Patricia Dare, The Boeing Company
